Scale in public art

This wonderful piece, “Celebration,” by Gary Price, is one of the more interesting and exciting pieces of public art I’ve seen lately. The kids are nicely formed, not sappy, simpy or sentimental, and their gestures are believable and compelling. They are embracing the world with their joy and energy and because of the small scale of the globe they wreathe, the piece conveys that their spirit can prevail in the world.

located in Decatur, Georgia, USA.
