To celebrate the new start presented by the new year, I indulged a whim and bought a big bag of Meyer lemons–a rare treat! I took half of them to try something new: preserved lemons. I halved a recipe from the New York Times, but the recipe seems fairly standard. I may have put in too much salt, but as with so many things, time will tell…
Happy New Year !
Suddenly, a whole bunch of elk came walking by me as I was waiting for my ride at a parking lot. I tried to move as little as possible while digging out my camera and taking a couple of snaps… mid-October, Cherokee, NC, USA
A couple of snaps: Here’s the fan I was working on last week. I love those big wooden letters, worn as they are, and I’m looking forward to doing another version of this, soon.
Hey, here are a couple of t-shirts from one of the participants in the silkscreen t-shirt sesh I held the other day… It was good fun and everyone there seemed to learn something edifying. It was rewarding to see everyone find something that they were interested in trying, and the results, well, they speak for themselves!
I took this picture from the seat of the plane going east from Las Vegas to Denver on Saturday–that huge late February storm left feet of snow cover that we saw almost the whole trip. Really something. And, I hope it left enough snowpack to mitigate wildfires this spring and summer.
